Runes - Lokabrenna

$20.00

With galaxy-purple flashing inclusions on a background of flaming black and a subtle abstract inlay, this set of runes calls to mind a sea of stars, one of the most famous of which is Sirius — known to the ancient Norse people as Lokabrenna or “Loki’s Torch.”

Rune-reading is often touted as an ancient form of divination, but ithe form we are most familiar with today is more likely actually a more modern invention of use for an ancient writing system known as the futhark. The runes used in ancient Norse divination likely incorporated the futhark, but the runes were likely different, and according to legend were acquired after great sacrifice by the god Odin. Nevertheless, rune divination is a tool, and as such it doesn't really matter how old this method is -- because we can ascribe meaning to them, we can use them to interpret what spirit has to say.

One set of 24 elder futhark runes made of hand-poured, hand-painted and sealed resin.
