For assistance in any and all things. Santa Muerte is a folk saint from Mexico, beloved and renowned for being most efficacious in every case. Unlike most saints, folk or otherwise, La Santa Muerte was never a human -- she is the embodiment of Death, but not in any morbid sort of sense. Rather, she protects and guides her followers through the veil from this world into the next. And in the meantime, she wants her children to live safe, full, and happy lives, enjoying all of the wonderful things that have been left here for us until it's time to go. Because of this motherly affection, Santa Muerte loves to assist whenever and with whatever she can, even things other saints might turn their noses up at (though she'll also warn you you're not free from the consequences if she does). She is especially fond of outcasts like the poor, the LGBTQ community, and the neurodivergent -- people who walk the liminal spaces of this world.
In many ways, she can be seen as an inverse of Mother Mary: Where Mary brought the Divine to the earthly realm and prays for our spiritual well-being, Santa Muerte returns the earthly to the Divine and prays for our physical well-being.
Ritual oils can be used to anoint yourself, your statues, or your tools, to dress candles, or you can add a few drops to your wash-water for wiping down surfaces and floors or doing laundry to carry their blessings into your daily life.
